What we do
Real work. Real skills. Real community.
From farm to fork, from horticulture to supported living — everything we do has a real social and environmental purpose.
Social enterprise
Investing in community.
As a social enterprise, we have a real social and environmental purpose. Everything we earn is reinvested back into the enterprise to deliver more of that purpose. By investing in Sturts, you're investing in your community, your people, and the local economy.
All of our social enterprises have three purposes: to promote sustainability, to give people opportunities, and to encourage individuals to create social change.

The farm
90 acres of Dorset farmland.
We farm using biodynamic and organic methods certified by Demeter. We raise our animals with the greatest care — cows, sheep, pigs, hens, and goats — in a way that respects our environment. What started as a small farming venture has turned into a real passion for feeding the community with high-quality, nutritious produce.
Our method of regenerative farming means there's no need for the chemicals modern farming relies on. We plough and weed instead. The topsoil becomes more healthy, aerated, and alive.
Market garden
From the ground up.
Here at Sturts Community Trust, we work with nature to grow high-quality seasonal produce throughout the year on a rotation system — the farm seen as one whole organism.
We grow a wide variety of organic and biodynamic fruit, vegetables, salad leaves, and herbs. Our menu at Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen is built around what's being grown — usually harvested the morning it arrives on your plate.

Support that starts with you.
Our supported living service supports people in their own homes, working to promote the uniqueness of each individual and foster self-reliance, personal responsibility, and citizenship. Allowing freedom of choice to develop individual skills and interests is a core principle.
We are committed to making each individual feel respected and involved in agreeing the support they need. We give clear information about care, costs, and how to make changes. We work together with other providers to give increased choice and access to health and social care services.

Our commitments
- ✦ Every person is treated with respect and involved in agreeing their own support.
- ✦ We keep people safe by assessing needs, planning care, and making adjustments.
- ✦ We support healthy lifestyles using fresh produce from our own farm.
- ✦ We follow safe recruitment practices and support our team to care with warmth.
- ✦ We promote strong leadership and keep the organisation financially secure.
Day opportunities
Meaningful work, every day.
At the centre of our social enterprise is our day service — offering an individualised programme to develop skills and encourage personal development, focusing on the specific needs of each individual. We work in teams, but our intensive support team can also cater for people needing one-to-one support.
Activities include farming, horticulture, market gardening, food production, and working at Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen. We currently have limited spaces available.

Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen.
At Gullivers, we offer award-winning seasonal produce from our own farm and other local farms and businesses. Whether you're picking up a few essentials in The Farm Shop or enjoying a leisurely lunch in The Kitchen, our passion is engraved into every inch of the Gullivers experience.
We renovated the oldest building in West Moors (1789) and opened our doors in October 2015. Our mission has remained the same since day one: top quality, seasonal, local produce — made here or sourced from the best local farmers, producers, and growers.
