A Dorset Farm Community

Where living, working and learning come together.

Sturts Community Trust is a farm-based community in West Moors, Dorset. We bring together supported living, community housing, and meaningful day opportunities — built around the land, and built around people.

Three things, one community

A place to live, work and grow.

Everything we do starts with one belief: that every person deserves a life with purpose, dignity, and real connection. At Sturts, that means bringing care, housing, and daily activity together in one place — on a working farm in the heart of Dorset.

Supported Living

We support working-age adults with learning disabilities and autism to live as independently as possible. Each person receives an individualised support plan — tailored to their goals, their strengths, and the life they want to build.

Our story

Forty years on this land.

Sturts Community Trust has been farming this land biodynamically for over forty years. What started as a Camphill Community — a place rooted in the belief that everyone has something to contribute — has grown into something remarkable: a registered charity, housing association, and social enterprise, all working together from one 90-acre farm in West Moors.

We are part of a wider family. Gullivers Farm Shop & Kitchen — our award-winning biodynamic farm shop and café — is a social enterprise at the heart of the Sturts farm. The Companions who work there aren't just doing a job. They're building skills, earning pride, and serving their community.

The land

Growing a community.

Sturts Farm sits in 90 acres of Dorset countryside. The soil here is worked sustainably using biodynamic and organic principles — no chemicals, no shortcuts. We have cows, sheep, pigs, hens, and goats, all cared for by our talented team.

The farm isn't just a backdrop. It's where a lot of the real work happens. Our market garden grows seasonal fruit, vegetables, salad and herbs. Our Companions work alongside employees and volunteers every day — sowing seeds, tending animals, harvesting produce, and taking it straight to Gullivers Farm Shop.
